My name is Juriaan.
I am a Freelance Graphic Designer. Both my parents run a design firm from home for as long as I can remember, so as a kid I grew up between the ink pencils and branded paper sheets. When I was around 12 years old my family immigrated to the Carribean island of Curacao. The island is a melting-pot for culture and really helped me empathise with the different needs of people and cultures.
After finishing high school in Curaçao, I immigrated back to the Netherlands. Here I followed my passion and started my studies as a Graphic Designer. I found that identity is truly important in today’s day and age. To properly communicate with consumers, brands need to have their own unique identities.
In 2018 I interned at SVT Branding + Design. Here I worked on several branding jobs for large dutch retail stores. In 2019 I formally graduated as a Graphic Designer and received my Bachelor of Arts. In 2020 I started working as a freelancer.
Just like people, every design job is different so I always start with the proper market research. I believe that with the right “visual language” a business can properly speak to their costumers.
